Giggle Fibre's CEO provided a document which they said would “hopefully expand on the engineering challenges we are facing and the reason for telegraph poles”.
- Giggle Fibre clarifies that it is a separate legal entity from Spring Fibre and is not bound by any prior agreements they may have made.
- They emphasise that poles are necessary due to limitations with existing underground infrastructure in East Garforth, much of which lacks suitable ducting.
- They assert that underground installation presents significant challenges, including risks of damaging existing utilities.
- Following requests from MP Richard Burgon and Leeds Highways, they temporarily paused pole installations but now intend to proceed.
- They proposed one-to-one consultations, a working group of community representatives, and bi-weekly updates, while maintaining that a large public meeting may not be the most effective format.
